Squirrel Sister’s March Favourites

Here are both our top 5 March favourites, some new and some established products based on what we have been favouring recently.

SOPHIE:

  1. Hemsley & Hemsley Cookbook

As we are approaching summer and the temptation of Easter looms ahead, I recommend the Hemsley & Hemsley cookbook for delicious, nutritious and healthy recipes.  They use natural and clean produce in all of their recipes and so far the ones we have tried are amazing!

  1. Aveda Shampure

I’ve been using this for the last few months and it always makes my hair feel light and clean, without drying it out!  Definitely recommended for the hotter weather we have our fingers crossed for.  Even in Singapore’s humidity you can get away with skipping a hair wash day!

  1. Teapigs Fennel and Liquorice

We love teapigs!  Fennel and liquorice is my favourite, the flavour is perfect to satisfy those sweet cravings, balance hormones, aid digestion and encourages detoxification. It is sweet, light and refreshing…perfect to enjoy outside on a sunny spring day!  Teapigs have also said it’s great for a hangover cure, so time to stock up before beer garden season hits.

  1. Organic Burst Maca Powder

As you will have seen from our instagram posts, Maca is a regular feature in our smoothies and breakfast bowls.  It’s nutty taste goes really well with lots of different foods, and it really does give you a burst of energy which lasts throughout the day. Also known as Peruvian Ginseng, Maca has been used in Peru for endurance, energy and hormonal balance for over 2000 years.

  1. Sweaty Betty Compression leggings

I first got given these for Christmas, and have had to stock up ever since because I wear them all the time!  They are snug so really hold you in and give you confidence when you work out, but are also really comfy and don’t cut off any blood supply!  The compression supports your joints throughout your workout, and muscle recovery afterwards.

GRACIE:

1) Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate

I bought this oil for the first time a couple of months ago after hearing amazing things and am now obsessed. It’s so light and absorbs into your skin immediately (unlike a lot of oil based products). It is enriched with natural ingredients including squalane, evening primrose and a blend of essential oils including Lavender, which helps you relax so you will have a better night’s sleep. Kiehls say that you will wake up with younger looking skin and I agree…my skin looks hydrated and replenished after a night of using the concentrate.

2) Tommyguns Weather Protect Dew Drops Serum

I had to put this as my April fav because I have been using it for so long and with summer fast approaching it’s worth a shout out. You can use this serum on wet or dry hair, just take a tiny bit and rub it through the ends and any flyaways. It’s got jojoba oil and vitamin E, which nourishes your locks making them smoother and shinier. I always take this on holiday with me and keep it in my bag at all times because it fights the frizz on those extra hot days.

3) GFM Organic Bee Pollen

You can get the full low down on why bee pollen is so amazing on a blog post I did a while ago https://squirrelsisters.wordpress.com/2014/11/11/the-amazing-benefits-of-bee-pollen/. I am so obsessed with it, which you will probably already know if you follow us on instagram. Not only does it have incredible health benefits but it tastes delicious. I love sprinkling a tsp over my porridge or adding it to a smoothie.

4) Nike Free Runs 5.0

These are my favourite trainers of all time. I run and do a lot of HITT workout sprinting so these work perfectly for me. They are extremely light and flexible due to the hexagonal flex grooves that are hot-knife cut into the outsole and wrap around the sidewall allowing your foot to move naturally. The other thing I love about these trainers is the colours you can pick from, all bright and fun. If you want to pay a bit extra you can also customise.

5) Neals Yard Beauty Sleep Body Butter

I got bought the body butter for christmas and only ran out the other day so had to re stock because I love the stuff. It’s thick and creamy so feels very luxurious when you rub it on. Its packed full of essential oils and organic butters (including cacao seed butter), which nourishes and hydrates your skin. I use this before bedtime because the ingredients have been chosen carefully to aid relaxation and calmness, perfect for a good nights sleep.
