The #GirlPower Series featuring Lottie Murphy

1) For those that don’t know you can you give a short summary of who you are and what you do…

I am a Pilates Instructor, holistic health coach and lifestyle blogger and I teach Pilates in London, blog about lifestyle and wellness, healthy recipes and Pilates. I have a Youtube channel as well and post a video every week which might be a Pilates workout or recipes I’m loving. I also write a lot for different online publications and work with various brands and magazines. I’m currently a Cosmopolitan ambassador.

2) How do you #TreatYourHealth

Being healthy for me isn’t just about the food I eat, it’s the way I move my body, the words I speak and the thoughts I think. I’m all about balance and living a happy healthy life with just the right amount of stress and busyness.

3) How do you fuel yourself on a busy day

I make sure I drink lots of water on a busy day as that keeps my energy levels up especially when I’m on the go. I also am someone that likes to eat little and often when I’m busy so I’ll carry healthy snacks with me and usually stop of for a cheeky matcha latte. Matcha is great because it keeps me focused but also calm.

4) Talk us through your typical work day

Every day is very different for me so I don’t really have any routine but it will sometimes involving teaching a couple of classes and 121 clients. I may then have some meetings or events and will always find a nice little coffee shop in London to do emails and blog from. Sometimes I’ll be filming from home, creating recipes or on a shoot. I always start my day with a lemon water, yummy breakfast and open my positive morning mantras book to set me up for the day.

5) Who’s your biggest inspiration and why

So many people inspire me from my mum who is so kind and always sees the good in people to my best friends who are all creating amazing careers for themselves to people I follow online like Madeleine Shaw, Lucy Mecklenburgh and the Tone It Up Girls who have built businesses by sharing their love for health and fitness and working extremely hard.

6) Where do you see yourself in 5 years

I have huge dreams but I am also so happy with where I am at now. I am living my dream right every day right now but in 5 years I would love to have seen my online community grow and maybe have a programme or app out. I am a huge fan of real books so it’s always been a dream to write my own book and I would also love to do more presenting. I hope that I would have seen a lot more of the world by then too.

7) How do you relax and switch off

I love reading a good book that has nothing to do with health, wellbeing and fitness. There’s nothing better than escaping into a completely different world. Being with my friends and family is the main way I really switch off and I make sure I book in little mini breaks throughout the year where I don’t look at my emails. My favorite place this year was in Rye!

8) Who do you love ‘stalking’ on social media?

I always love catching up on what the Hemsley Hemsley sisters are up too and Madeleine Shaw who was one of the first health bloggers I followed and even attended her first ever workshop 3 years ago. I then generally just stalk my friends and family.

9) What does #GirlPower mean to you?

Girl Power to me means girls supporting each other and standing up for what we believe in. Yes we overthink, we worry, we compare ourselves to each other but we are so strong and together we can achieve anything we put our minds too. It’s about us being our own heroes.

10) One piece of advice that you would give to your younger self?

Stop worrying!
